Brisbane Comedy WebSeries

Starring a Russian Family

The Project:

A down-on-her-luck, young Aussie woman moves back to her rural home – and her eccentric, off- centred Russian immigrant family.

An Online Social Series, “Not Russian Anywhere” delves into the universal, yet distinctively Australian, experience of family, identity, and belonging. At its heart, the show explores Family Ties and Cultural Identity, Secrets, Self-Discovery & Women’s Health, Modern Love and Connection.

What we’re looking for:

Some of the eccentric, off- centred Russian immigrant family!

Grandmother - 70s - Bubba is the figure head of the family. She came to Australian with no English and 6 young children. We’re looking for women in their 70s based in Brisbane bilingual in Russian.

Mother - 50s - The warmer and softer of the parents. The strong Russian blood boils deep if you annoy her, which her husband Nikolay likes to test on a regular basis. We’re looking for women in their 50s based in Brisbane with a Russian or Eastern European Heritage.

Father - 60s - Nikolay’s pride is his family and providing for them is what he believes is his purpose. We’re looking for men in their 50s/60s based in Brisbane with a Russian or Eastern European Heritage.
